Session 1: In the Beginning, God…

The Bible is God’s grand story with Jesus as its Hero

Let’s get started.

I am thrilled to see the church launch out together this week in our study of Genesis. A few important topics from this lesson are:

1) The difference between general revelation and special revelation.

2) The questions that Israel would have been asking as they looked to the Law for God’s answers.

3) The deity of Christ leads us to see that Jesus was the agent of creation.

I included a video produced by The Gospel Project that gives an overview of the story of the Bible. I thought it was a great way to spend a few minutes of your time. Check it out and be amazed at the purposes and plans of God.

Ready, Set, Go!

Hello, dear teachers of God’s Word.

First, let me say “thank you” to all of you for your faithfulness to teach God’s Word week in and week out. I so appreciate your service to the Lord.

I want to try to be a help to you as you seek to teach well. To do this, I am going to offer up Bible Study tips for you each week on this website. Some weeks I may just be cheering you on and praying for you. Other weeks I may offer some commentary on a specific point in the lesson. At other times we may dig into a doctrinal or textual issue. Regardless of the week, I want to be able to give you five to ten minutes of help that you can use in your preparation for class. (Although this first week I am giving you a few more minutes than 5-10.)

I am excited to begin using The Gospel Project curriculum together. These first two videos introduce the curriculum and explain why we made the change to one curriculum for the whole church.

Feel free to leave comments on each of these posts if you like. That can become a good way to have some conversations about the lessons each week.

God Bless you all.

Pastor, Eric
