The Handwriting of God

I was asked this week to give a little more assistance with leading in application points. The lesson plan itself seemed a little sparse, so in the video I give you three questions you can ask to help with discussion and application.

I mention these questions in the video, but here they are in writing:*

  1. Where do you aspire to have more power, control, prominence in your life? In answering this question, you may wish to consider some of life’s different domains: your work, your home, your social life, your church, your reputation, your finances, and so forth. What does the book of Daniel teach about these aspirations? What does Christ’s journey to the cross teach about these aspirations?
  2. How can we as Christians learn to strike the right balance between trusting and honoring other people with power over us and remember that they are only human and that God alone must be feared?
  3. Do you presently hold any positions of authority Do you exercise authority in those domains with a continual awareness that you will be judged by God for your use of that authority? If you did so, what would change?
